Beginning as a family operation consisting of a long line of Greek silversmiths in the small village of Epirus, eventually Sotirio Bulgari formulated his experience into the prestigious watch and jeweler firm of Bvlgari. Sotirio Bulgari, left Greece and immigrated to Italy in 1884, and opened his first specialty silver shop in Rome. By 1905, with the help of his sons, he inaugurated another store on Via Condotti, which still stands today as the flagship store of Bvlgari.
The two sons developed a zealous interest in precious stones and jewels. Gradually taking over their father's role, the Bvlgari firm experimented with new ideas in fashionable fine jewelry and developed their own unique style of settings and designs.
With international expansion, the fabled jeweler to the stars expanded with stores in Geneva, Monte Carlo, New York, and Paris.
